Clifford Chance are a magic circle law firm, and therefore one of the highest-in-demand places to work. But many applicants don’t realise the sheer determination and resilience it will require to succeed. This campaign was about cutting the bullshit and being transparent about how tough it really is.

Accompanying a suite of seven films, this booklet provided a deep dive into the people featured in the campaign, containing personal letters and individual stories written from their interviews. I wrote all of its content, and worked closely with another designer at RD Content to figure out how best to portray these deeply intimate windows into these lawyers’ lives. The booklet is now available on the Clifford Chance Careers website, acting as a window into the life and culture of the firm for potential applicants.

In 2024, the success of the campaign led to The Real Contract being expanded globally, now featuring lawyers from three additional countries. This involved a rehaul of both the films and the booklet, which developed further upon the original.
